Invited presentation for the EPA Tribal Science Council Summer 2023 Meeting, co-hosted by the Santee Sioux Nation of Nebraska and the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska.

Description:

Invited "mini" science presentation for the National EPA-Tribal Science Council Summer 2023 Meeting, co-hosted by the Santee Sioux Nation of Nebraska and the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska. They identified nutrients, groundwater, wetlands and wastewater treatment as issues of interest. I will present a shorter version of the recent EPA Water Research Webinar that I gave, which is based on ORD's Nutrients Solutions-Driven Research (SDR). The SDR is working to reduce recurring and legacy nutrient loading in groundwater via, among other approaches, enhanced septic systems and wetland restoration. I will speak to collective efforts to design, execute, and monitor the impacts of these interventions involving local, state, federal, Tribal, and non-governmental partners.
